ARISE – First ACTS Analysis Workshop (Singapore, 23-27 February 2015)


ASEAN Member States (AMS) are making good progress in specifying the technical environment for developing the Computerised System for the ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTS). A workshop was held by ARISE in Singapore to pursue these objectives, in conjunction with the consortium that has been selected to develop the system.

ARISE – ASEAN Training of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Trainers (Jakarta-Indonesia, 9-13 February 2015)


ASEAN Customs Authorities have confirmed their commitment to establishing national Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) programmes, based on the SAFE Framework of Standards developed by the World Customs Organisation. Malaysia as lead country for the endorsed ASEAN Strategic Plan of Customs Development on AEO carried out a survey on the technical assistance needs of ASEAN Member States (AMS). The conclusions, among others, are that AMS require Training of AEO Trainers (TOT).

ARISE – ACTS Border Visits (Bukit Kayu Hitam – Malaysia and Da Nok Sadao – Thailand, 4 February 2015)


 

 
In February 2015 ARISE carried out a visit to the border crossing between Thailand and Malaysia. The mission took place as part of the preparation for the implementation of the pilot ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTS) on the north-south transit corridor from Thailand, through Malaysia to Singapore. This is the approved transit route and related frontier offices under protocols 1 and 2 of the ASEAN Framework Agreement on the Facilitation of Goods in Transit (AFAFGIT).
